The gift of giving has been around for hundreds of generations, a tradition that even primitive cavemen cultures engaged in. A tradition that in the past was used to show appreciation towards one another is still imminent in our everyday lives today. However, with all the changes in the way we go about our day-to-day with advances in technology, the art of gift-giving is becoming overshadowed by our fast-paced lifestyles and our desire for instant gratification.
Every moment of our lives is jam-packed with work or some form of house or family chore that we need to get done before the weekend is over before we need to divulge into another week of hard work. This is challenging and an exhausting feat we face on a daily basis, so when it comes time for birthdays or any other special occasion we generally tend to apply the same sense of urgency in trying towards finding a card and gift to give to our loved ones. In doing so, we lose the purpose of gift-giving as we no longer take the time to give a gift that is meaningful. We end up buying a gift just to obey the norms of society and to do what is expected on a special occasion.
The truth though is nothing is greater than receiving a gift (no matter the monetary value) that is sentimental. Something that shows the “giver” has taken time out of their busy lives to think about you, and only you and giving you something that they know you will truly appreciate and bring back some form of nostalgia and that is the true art of gift-giving

Last year I was fortunate enough to travel to Singapore and during my travels, I came across a restaurant called Nox. A unique dining experience that aims to provide inside into the lives of individuals with visual disabilities. The dining experience involves several courses, however, these courses are served in complete darkness!. You are placed in a completely blacked out room and are forced to rely on all our other senses to feel around the table for your cutlery, try to decipher the different dishes that have been placed in front of you with just your sense of smell and taste. With all this happening around you, your ears are constantly listening out to the unique “calling sounds” the waiter makes as he approaches your table.
It took a few hours in a pitch-black room for me to realize how much we take for granted on a daily basis. Stepping out of the restaurant it took my eyes a while to adjust to seeing objects and colours again. At that moment I was
truly humbled in the realization of how lucky I am to be able to see all the incredible lights, the breathtaking scenery around me and even the faces of strangers made me smile.
Our senses are constantly overstimulated every minute of every day, that we so easily lose track of the beauty that we are surrounded by. By beauty I mean more than just the beautiful landscape we have around us, I also mean the friends and family that make our lives meaningful. We need to constantly remind ourselves just how fortunate we are to have these individuals in our lives.
For me, Coza Cards is just one I can help others share a gift with their loved ones that are as memorable as every moment you spend with them. We want you to appreciate and love every moment in this beautiful yet unforeseeable life and if we can make those moments a little more magical with our cards then we have done what we set out to do.
